West Sussex Removals

Questions, answered

The things people ask us most — about moving around the county, storage and packing, moves into Europe, and how quotes and booking work.

Moving around West Sussex

Which parts of West Sussex do you cover?

All of it. Chichester and Bognor Regis in the west, Crawley and the Gatwick corridor in the north-east, Horsham and the Wealden villages, Worthing and Littlehampton on the coast, and the South Downs country around Arundel, Midhurst and Petworth — plus the commuter towns of Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and East Grinstead.

Do you handle removals in Chichester?

Regularly. The Georgian streets inside the Roman walls, the tight one-way system at the Cross, and the harbour villages out towards the Witterings each have their own access and parking quirks. We check them ahead of the day and plan the load-in so the move stays calm and unhurried.

Can you move a home in Arundel with its steep, narrow streets?

Yes — it is one of the things we plan for most. The streets below the castle are steep and narrow, and much of the town is a conservation area, so we look at access first, choose a van that suits the road, and carry the right protection rather than trying to force a large lorry up a hill that will not take it.

Do you cover Crawley and the Gatwick corridor?

We do. Crawley’s new-town neighbourhoods and cul-de-sacs and the airport corridor are familiar ground, and we handle plenty of relocations tied to work at or around Gatwick. The M23 on the doorstep makes for a straightforward run when a move heads north or out of the county.

Do you move homes in the South Downs villages?

Yes. Much of the county sits in or under the South Downs National Park, so rural lanes, hill villages and conservation areas are routine for us. Around Midhurst and Petworth in particular we plan the last narrow mile as carefully as the main roads.

Services, packing and storage

What is included in a home removal?

A survey before the day for anything but the smallest move, protection for your furniture and floors as standard, dismantling and reassembly of beds and wardrobes, and careful loading and setting-down at the new address. Packing, storage and unpacking can be added — you choose the level.

Do you offer man-and-van for smaller jobs?

We do. For a single room, a few larger items or a quick collection, a driver and a right-sized van is often the sensible choice. We will be honest about when a man-and-van fits and when a full removal would serve you better.

Can you provide storage in West Sussex?

Yes — clean, dry, secure storage for a few boxes or a whole home. We take a full inventory as your things go in, and we can fold a move-and-store into one booking with one team, which helps when the dates between homes do not quite meet. Storage around Crawley and the county is a regular part of what we do.

Do you supply packing materials?

We supply quality cartons, wrapping and protection, and we can pack the whole house, just the fragile items, or leave you to it with the right boxes to hand. Everything we pack is listed on a labelled inventory so nothing is mislaid.

Can you move an office or business?

Yes. We plan commercial moves around your trading hours — out of hours or at the weekend where it protects your business — handle IT, desks and equipment, offer crate hire, and can store surplus furniture and records. The aim is to keep any downtime to a minimum. Horsham and the Manor Royal estate at Crawley are frequent ground for us.

European and international moves

Do you move from West Sussex to Europe?

We run household moves that depart from anywhere in the county to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Each is framed as a route pair — from your West Sussex address to the new one abroad — and one team stays with the move from collection to delivery.

How does customs work after Brexit?

For personal belongings you are bringing to a new home in the EU there is a recognised process, and we prepare the paperwork — the inventory, the transit and customs documents — as part of the move. You will not be left to work it out at a border; we handle that side and explain what you need to sign.

Can you take a part-load rather than a whole van?

Yes. If you are not filling a lorry, a shared load — your goods consolidated with other moves heading the same way — is often the sensible option. A dedicated load runs to your own schedule. We will explain which suits what you are moving.

Which UK cities can you collect from before heading abroad?

While we are a West Sussex firm at heart, the European routes we run also pick up along the way — London, Brighton, Portsmouth, Southampton and Guildford among them. If your move starts near one of those, it can join the same corridor.

Quotes, timing and booking

How do I get a quote?

Send us your details and a little about the move through the quote form, and we will reply by email with a clear, written, no-obligation quote. For larger homes we will arrange a survey first so the figure is grounded in what is really there.

How quickly will you get back to me?

Promptly — usually within a working day or two of receiving your details. If your move is time-sensitive, say so in the notes and we will prioritise it.

When should I book?

As early as you comfortably can, especially around the busier end of the week and the end of the month, when good slots go first. That said, we will always try to help at shorter notice — just get in touch and we will see what we can do.

Are my belongings covered?

Yes. Goods-in-transit and liability cover are part of how we work, and we will set out the terms in writing with your quote so you know exactly where you stand before anything is booked.

Is the quote really no-obligation?

Completely. The quote is there to help you decide. If the timing or the fit is not right, there is no pressure and nothing owed — we would rather you moved with us because it suited you.
